ABOUT US |
Dr. Laura Gruskin From an early age I pictured myself as a physician helping patients in the office and hospital settings. I love science and technology as well as caring for people so medicine has always had a great appeal to me. As I progressed through my education and medical training, I realized that the field of obstetrics and gynecology would allow me to serve women of all ages both medically and surgically. After graduating from North Farmington High School in 1983, I attended the University of Michigan's Inteflex Program from 1983 to 1990. I received my degree in biomedical science with a focus on ethics, women's studies and business. After receiving my medical degree from the University of Michigan, I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at William Beaumont in Royal Oak. I stayed on to practice at Beaumont after considering all of my options as the hospital provides state of the art academic medicine in a private personalized setting. This environment is comfortable for me and my patients. I am particularly interested in reproductive physiology and infertility and am thrilled to help couples who are having difficulty conceiving. I also enjoy primary care medicine and early detection and treatment of gynecologic conditions especially those of hormone imbalance. One of my favorite parts about practice is caring for women in all age groups and focusing on both physical and emotional needs. I also am pleased to offer less invasive and alternative approaches to address common problems women encounter such as pelvic pain, dysfunctional bleeding and birth control. The practice of medicine has advanced greatly over the past twenty years and I strive to use new technology in a balanced and safe way. Personally, my husband Michael and I have three sons. Our family enjoys playing tennis, Michigan football and celebrating holidays with our extended family. I am passionate about knitting, reading and exercise. |
